FAQ
The Project
All purchases are processed through Square.
Square permits refunds to be issued up to 365 days from the original date of purchase. Once a refund is initiated, Square generally processes refunds within 4–14 business days. Due to potential delays outside of our control, customers must allow up to an additional 10 business days for the refund to be completed and reflected on the original payment method.
If a refund has not been received after this extended period, customers must contact me directly at refund@thebuybackprogram.com (refund@thebuybackprogram.com)before taking any other action.
Refund requests may be submitted no earlier than 121 days after the date of purchase. This mandatory waiting period exists to prevent fraud, abuse, and chargeback-related misconduct.
Although Square charges a processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, all approved refunds are issued for the full purchase amount. Processing fees are not deducted from refunds.
Strict No-Chargeback Policy
By completing a purchase, you explicitly agree that you will not initiate a chargeback, payment dispute, or reversal through your credit card company, bank, or any third-party payment provider for any reason related to this transaction without first contacting me at refund@thebuybackprogram.com (mailto:refund@thebuybackprogram.com)and allowing me a reasonable amount of time to resolve the issue.
Chargebacks Are Strictly Prohibited
Initiating a chargeback:
While a refund request is pending
After a refund has been issued
Instead of submitting a refund request
In violation of the 121-day waiting period will be considered a material breach of this policy.
Consequences of a Chargeback
If a chargeback is initiated in violation of this policy, I reserve the right to:
Immediately void and permanently deny any refund
Contest the chargeback with the payment processor, including submitting this policy, transaction records, and customer communications as evidence
Permanently ban the customer from future purchases or participation
Recover all costs associated with the chargeback, including but not limited to administrative time, processor fees, penalties, and legal costs where permitted by law
Customers must contact refund@thebuybackprogram.com
and allow us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue before involving any bank, card issuer, or payment processor.
What is “EQ”?
If investing were only about IQ, spreadsheet users would be billionaires by now.
In reality, research suggests successful investors rely on both IQ and EQ—the ability to manage emotions, make clear decisions under pressure, and avoid costly, impulse-driven mistakes.
EQ stands for Emotional Quotient. It’s a measure of your emotional intelligence—how well you handle stress, uncertainty, and your own reactions when money is on the line.
While the exact numbers vary, studies suggest only about 36% of people have a high EQ.
This project exists to help move you into that group—
focusing on the big picture, the end goal, and being patient.
And yes… better returns tend to follow.
To quote my father: “I’m not made of money.”
In theory, covering a full 20% buyback on all 5,000 photos would require about $100,000. Do I personally keep that sitting in a drawer? Not in a drawer. :)
Between myself and a group of outside investors, though? Absolutely covered.
Based on “EQ” percentages, I won’t actually need the full amount. In practice, only a small percentage of buyers have the patience (or emotional discipline) to hold long enough to collect the full 20%. Refunds and early exits are expected.
The 5,000-photo cap is about keeping the project realistic, manageable, and responsibly backed.
